AUDITION NOTICE

Contraband Theatre will hold general, non-Equity, in-person auditions on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at The Chapel (6238 Alexander Dr, St. Louis, MO 63105) for the world premiere of Glut, a new play by e.k. doolin, directed by Taijha Silas, and produced by Jacob Juntunen.

Sides will be emailed after the form is submitted. The full script is available upon request or via New Play Exchange. No monologue required.

 

Headshot and resume may be uploaded through the form—no need to bring hard copies.

 

Contraband Theatre will confirm your assigned audition time after submission.

 

All acting positions are paid $500.

• Callbacks: Monday, May 18, 2026 (6:00–10:00 PM)

• Rehearsals Begin: Week of August 24

  • Mondays–Thursdays, 6:00–10:00 PM

  • No rehearsal on Labor Day

  • Aug 24–Sept 10: Winter Opera

  • Starting Sept 14: The Chapel

• Performances: October 7–24, 2026

  • Wednesdays–Saturdays at 7:30 PM

• STEVE CAROL (he/him, 20s–40s) — Fat, strong dancer

• SARAH TREELY (she/her, 20s–40s) — Fat, strong dancer

• CAB SMITH-CAROL (he/him, 20s–40s) — Steve’s brother

• REVEREND JODY (she/her, older than Sarah) — Sarah’s childhood reverend, plus-sized

• SWING 1 (she/her) — Wedding planner, Suellen, cop, strong dancer

• SWING 2 (he/him) — Miles, waiter, Carl, strong dancer
